1st race in the Gold Country Grand Prix

Now in it's 8th year, the Penn Valley Daffodil Run is a Penn Valley Area "Signature Event". Penn Valley Daffodil Run had a record turn out in 2007 with over 450 participants in the 5k & 10 k runs, 5 k walk and free Kid's run.

The Daffodil Run is presented by the Penn Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, the Penn Valley High Graders Lions Club and the Penn Valley Rotary Club.

Proceeds from the race provide funds to purchase Daffodil Bulbs for the Penn Valley Daffodil Planting Program.  Eventually Daffodils will line the major roads in the Penn Valley area.

In addition, for the 4th year, there is  a local school contest between Ready Springs School, Pleasant Valley School and Clear Creek School.  A $500 prize is given to the school with the most race participants running in support of that school.  In 2005 and 2006, Ready Springs School has won the prize. In 2007 Pleasant Valley won the $500 prize.

Remaining proceeds are shared by the three Presenters and this money is designated for Community Service Programs. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the Penn Valley Community Center Building Fund.
